Until October 16th, it is possible to climb to the top of the Clérigos Tower at night and admire, in an almost 360-degree view, the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia and the river that joins them.
The Clérigos by Night initiative takes place from 7 pm to 11 pm, packed with events, which kick-off at 4 pm, when the bells ring out the Ode to Joy from Ludwig Van Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
Later, at 6 pm, the show “Spiritus”, a 30-minute video mapping event, created by the OCubo atelier for the Irmandade dos Clérigos [brotherhood], begins, while next door, visits to Clérigos Tower take place from 7 pm to 11 pm.
Groups of up to 35 people go up every 30 minutes. Visits are priced at 5€, with the last one of each night scheduled for 10:30 pm.
“After two years of great difficulties for everyone, one can feel the pulse of Porto again, with tourists once again filling the city's streets. We are registering visits at the same level of 2019, which motivates us to resume in the Church and in the Tower some of the moments of greatest public participation, as is the case of Clérigos by Night”, explains, in a statement, Manuel Fernando, president of Irmandade dos Clérigos.
