NOS Primavera Sound revealed the lineup for the next edition, which comes to City Park next year, from 9 to 11 June. Tame Impala, Gorillaz, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Beck and Pavement headline the festival’s 2022 edition, and more artists will be added. All tickets purchased for 2020 and 2021 are valid for the new edition.
One week after the launch of the Primavera Sound Barcelona - Sant Adrià 2022 lineup, the Portuguese edition of the festival announces the lineup with which it will celebrate the ninth edition, from 9 to 11 June 2022, "led by Tame Impala and its multicoloured psychedelic, Damon Albarn's Gorillaz, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in a new reunion with eternity, the legendary Beck, the resurrected Pavement, Little Simz as the new British rap sensation, by the always irreverent Kim Gordon and by King Krule howling from the darkness", informs in a press release. The lineup will be completed in the coming weeks, "there will be more than 60 artists with the 100% Primavera Sound guarantee who will accompany us on the long-awaited return to the Parque da Cidade", says the organiser.
In addition to the celebration of returning to all the rituals that surround a festival, NOS Primavera Sound will once again celebrate contemporary music in all its magnitude with a daring, eclectic, and transversal lineup, that speaks different languages and sounds. From Jamila Woods' activist soul to Jawbox's inexhaustible post-hardcore, from María José Llergo's soothing flamenco to Earl Sweatshirt's mutant hip hop, from Khruangbin's nomadic funk to Black Coffee's universal house, "the return to Porto will serve not only to make up for lost time, but also to live the present and start dreaming about the future", states the press release.
There are also scheduled concerts by King Krule, C. Tangana, Khruangbin, Dinosaur Jr., Little Simz, Earl Sweatshirt, Slowdive, Cigarettes After Sex, Mura Masa, Kim Gordon, Sky Ferreira, Diiv, Black Midi, Jamila Woods, and Helado Negro, and many more.
The lineup will also feature many emerging artists and, in a true intergenerational journey, will present musicians from the here and now, but also timeless artists. Added to this is a lineup with local heavyweights (David Bruno, Nídia, Pedro Mafama, Throes + The Shine, Rita Vian, DJ Firmeza and Montanhas Azuis) and with artists from the other side of the Atlantic, such as the Brazilian Arnaldo Antunes, and also the continuing influence of techno music.
All tickets purchased for NOS Primavera Sound 2020 and 2021 are valid for the 2022 edition. It is, therefore, mandatory to exchange the NOS Primavera Sound 2020 or 2021 ticket for a ticket valid for the 2022 edition. This exchange must be made at the point of sale where it was purchased, starting the day of the ticket selling for 2022 until 31 December 2021, at no cost.
