Don Diablo is confirmed for this year’s edition, along with the Portuguese singers, S. Pedro and Cuca Monga, that will take place at Alfândega do Porto from 26 to 28 May.

He is considered one of the biggest DJs in the world and currently occupies the 7th position of the DJMag’s Top100, being considered the founder of the future house movement, Don Diablo is headlining the festival’s second night, 27 May, in a line-up that also includes the performances of Tricky, Capicua, Domingues, T-Rex, Cassete Pirata and Throes + The Shine. The second day of the festival is thus closed, in a line-up where urban sounds linked to dance music are dominant.

The festival also has two more Portuguese artists joining the musical menu. Thus, the first day - 26 May - will feature the performance of S. Pedro, Pedro Pode's musical alter-ego who, after the band doismileoito disbanded, of which he was the leader, is dedicating himself to a vocals and guitar project.

The project joins the already announced Ornatos Violeta, celebrating the group’s 30th anniversary, and Linda Martini, who present their new album “Êrror”, at a time when they went from a quartet to a trio, with the departure of Pedro Geraldes from the band. On this day dedicated to Portuguese rock, there will also be time for an exclusive performance by Zen and concerts by PAUS, Paraguaii, Pedro da Linha and Riot.

This edition features an eclectic programme, where we highlight the first day dedicated to Portuguese rock, that crosses several generations. A second day marked by even more adrenaline and for a younger audience and we top off JN North Festival, where we remember the 1980s and 1990s”, emphasises the festival’s director Jorge Veloso.

On 28 May, the Cuca Monga project closes the line-up for that day, joining The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Waterboys, the celebration of GNR’s 41st anniversary, Keep Razors Sharp, the duo Moullinex and Xinobi and Dj Vibe. Cuca Monga brings together on stage members of Capitão Fausto, Ganso, Luís Severo, Rapaz Ego, Zarco, among other projects. They will perform live “Cuca Vida”, in an ode to the celebration of life, an album made in less than two months and in the most natural and spontaneous way.

The festival takes place from 26 to 28 May and marks the start of summer festivals in Portugal and also offers various experiences such as boat trips with a DJ, the clubbing stage, street food that suits all tastes or the wine gardens. Pre-sale tickets and general passes are on sale in the usual places and at www.northmusicfestival.pt
