Galeria Municipal do Porto (GMP) is about to open its doors to the public again. From April 6th, it will be possible to resume visits to the two exhibitions which were inaugurated in December. The six previously announced projects are part of the now revised calendar, in addition to the satellite project, which will be presented in different venues in the city.
Until April 25th, from Tuesday to Friday, between 10 am and 6 pm, and from 10 am to 1 pm on weekends, Galeria Municipal do Porto reopens with the exhibition by Diana Policarpo, “Nets of Hyphae”, curated by Stefanie Hessler and co-produced by Kunsthall Trondheim. At the same time, the public will also be able to find “Que horas são que horas: uma galeria de histórias”, curated by José Maia, Paula Parente Pinto and Paulo Mendes.
Thus, after resuming the two exhibitions previously interrupted, one must visit, from June 12th to August 22nd, “Pés de Barro”, a group exhibition curated by Chus Martínez and Filipa Ramos; and “Wall גדר جدار”, an exhibition by Inés Moldavski, curated by Guilherme Blanc.
On September 18th, it opens a project by artist and curator Pedro G. Romero, entitled “Atravessar a Fronteira: Os novos babilónios”, and also “Pandemic: I Don’t Know Karate, But I Know Ka-Razor!”, an exhibition by Filipe Marques, jointly curated by Isabeli Santiago and Juan Luis Toboso. Both will remain at Galeria Municipal until November 21st.
“Erro 417: Expectativa Falhada”, curated by Marta Espiridião, is an exhibition that is the result from the contest project "Expo'98 no Porto", and will be at Galeria Municipal between 11 December 2021 and 13 February 2022.
In the same period, the venue receives the work by Colombian artist Milena Bonilla, “A hora antes do pôr do sol”, curated by Juan Luis Toboso.
In addition to these exhibitions, joins, from May 22nd to July 18th, the Satellite Programme with the project “Anuário 20”, curated by Ana Resende, Andreia Garcia, Melissa Rodrigues, Pedro Augusto and Pedro Magalhães, to be later presented in different venues in the city of Porto.
Complying with the recommendations by the Council of Ministers for the opening of museums, monuments, palaces, art galleries and the like, the maximum capacity of Galeria Municipal’s venue will be 30 people simultaneously. The conditions of access and the respective opening hours will always be subject to the safety rules and standards issued by Direção-Geral da Saúde (health authority).
