Serenatas para Orquestra
Event
Conductor Abel Pereira is a household name to the audiences of Porto, having been head of the horn section of Orquestra Sinfónica. His intense international career has led him to the United States of America where he has been living for several years, and this concert begins precisely with a famous fanfare written to promote the feeling of patriotism in that country. We then travel to the universe of the serenade, a classic genre that we associate with Mozart’s scores and to which, a hundred years later, other composers wanted to return. The concert ends with Mendelssohn's “Italian” Symphony, inspired “by the people, landscapes and art” of that country.
