Maus Hábitos - Espaço de Intervenção Cultural
Maus Hábitos - Espaço de Intervenção Cultural
Exhibition centres and Art galleries
Address: Rua Passos Manuel, 178, 4000-382 Porto
We can start with the name- Maus Habitos. Maus Habitos - a cultural intervention to be socially expressive and fecund, so that you don't exhaust yourself in the mere decorative dimension, you can't be 'well behaved'. You have to be innovative, subversive and transgressive. Maus Habitos-it's a space which doesn't want to be defined. It hasn't got an Italian stage, but it offers conditions which welcome concerts and plays. It's not a gallery, but arranges appropriate spaces to receive exhibitions, and maintain an artistic and active programme. It's not an atelier but it develops residential programmes and artistic companionship just as practical as theoretical. It's not a club, but it enjoys parties and drinks in the evening. It's not a traditional kitchen, but it likes to eat well and experiment new flavours and create new dishes. Yes, it is an alternative platform and a professionalized experiment. Yes, it is a space of informalities, artistic collaborations and cultural convergence. It's a cultural producer, with an artistic conscience of intervention, production and presenting artistic programmes which act as contemporary conditions of culture. It is an open urban space, bastard and emblematic of the city.
