This traditional grocery store was founded in 1917 by António Rodrigues Reis. Queijo da serra (cheese), a selection of cured and fresh sausages, an extensive range of dried and crystalized fruits (priced by weight) and an array of regional wines and biscuits are the typical fare of one of the oldest shops in the city. The front of the store is made up of Art Nouveau and is covered with tiles depicting the spices routes.

The earliest evidence of the firm's activity as a Port shipper dates from 1588. The company took its present name in 1736 when it was joined by John Croft, a member of an old and distinguished family of Yorkshire wine merchants. It is now owned and run by descendants of two old Port wine families, the Yeatman's and Fladgate's. The prestige that the brand Croft and its wines have is due in no small measure to its ownership of one of the finest estates of the Douro Valley, the famous Quinta da Roêda. W & J Graham's was founded in 1820 by two brothers, William and John Graham, and sold to the Symington family in 1970. The well-appointed Graham's Cellars offer magnificent views of old Porto, the Douro River and Vila Nova de Gaia. Visitors can choose from four different visits, each of which culminates in the opportunity to taste three of Graham's port wines.
