Concertos da Passagem de Ano

Miguel Araújo and Tiago Nacarato, two musicians from the city, are the confirmed names for the New Year’s Eve 2019/2020. Avenida dos Aliados will be, as usual, the stage of all celebrations, in a party that combines music, fireworks and plenty of entertainment until the early hours.

The first to step on stage will be Tiago Nacarato, starting at 10:30 pm, debuting solo in the largest "hall" in the city. The musician that Portugal got to know two years ago, when he performed on RTP's "The Voice" tv show, currently sells out halls in Portugal from north to south and in Brazil. Born and raised in Porto, but with strong Brazilian roots, the emerging singer from Porto released his first album, "Lugar Comum", on October this year.

After the traditional pyromusical show, launched from the Porto City Hall building, at midnight, it will be time for the acclaimed Miguel Araújo to step in the Avenida for the first big concert of 2020.

With five solo albums - "Cinco Dias e Meio" (2012), "Crónicas da Cidade Grande" (2014), “Cidade Grande ao Vivo no Coliseu do Porto” (2015), "Giesta" (2017) and "Uma Noite na Philarmonie Luxembourg" (2018) - Miguel Araújo returns home to share with his fans some of the most successful songs of Portuguese music of this early century.

The party will then continue with the duo Radiola, which brings together the DJs Gonçalo Mendonça and Francisco Aires Pereira, two of the biggest promoters of the city’s nightlife.
Gonçalo Mendonça has been to festivals such as Alive, Marés Vivas and Iminente, being now 100% dedicated to Calypso, a travelling party series in secret spots that began in London and has also passed through Frankfurt and Porto, among others. Francisco Aires Pereira is a resident DJ of avant-garde venues in the city, such as Plano B and Pérola Negra.

One year ago, Avenida dos Aliados recorded its biggest throng ever, bringing together more than 200,000 people in what is considered the most celebrated New Year's Eve in the country.
