Wizz Air also connects Porto and Vienna

The Hungarian air carrier Wizz Air has announced that it will also enter the already disputed air corridor between Porto and Vienna from Austria, starting on December 18th of this year.

Offering two weekly flights (Wednesday and Sunday) in a 230-seat Airbus 321 aircraft, Wizz Air plans to take over a share of the Austrian market that was affected by the bankruptcy of the Air Berlin Group and, consequently, its Austrian subsidiary Niki. This is a race in which Lauda / Ryanair, Level / IAG and Austrian / Eurowings / LH are already running, which leads some players to expect consolidation in this segment.

The air connections of Porto to the Austrian capital have increased with the beginning of the operation of Level, and Lauda announced for next October to enter this route.
